About the event

Jodie Adams Kirshner and Todd Spangler, Washington correspondent for the Detroit Free Press, will discuss Kirshner's new book Broke: Hardship and Resilience in a City of Broken Promises, which examines the use of bankruptcy and austerity as common remedies for struggling American cities.

Broke has been called, "A galvanizing, narrative account of a city’s bankruptcy and its aftermath told through the lives of seven valiantly struggling Detroiters".

This is sure to be a fascinating conversation, and we hope to see you there!
